Default Brake Overhaul?

I got the power brakes and everything from a guy(booster, cylinder, front spindles, proportioning valve, rotors, calipers) He said he would replace the valve, calipers, cylinder of all the parts since I would be going to 4 disk, and some of the parts are junk. What should I do to cut cost? Where do I get this stuff? I've seen the write up on $200 DIY brakes, but I dunno if my spindle works or whatnot.

I have all the stuff, but most of it is old. I will be getting the SS lines too.

what kind of condition is it in? if it is all in good working condition i would go ahead and use that since you have it, save a few bucks and use if for the DIY rear kit

well you wont completely, but if i was you i would go ahead and install it since you have everything. maybe someone else could chime in and tell you a way to check if stuff is good but i dont tihnk there is.
you can obviously take a look at the rotors, see what condition they are in, not cracked, nice and smooth. etc etc just some visual stuff.

Man its hard trying to keep up with 3 threads with you LOL!

As for the rotors, most auto parts places like O'Reilly's will have a machine in the back - they can pull the specs for the rotors and tell how "true" the rotor is, and if it is still good.

Not a whole lot to check on a Master cylinder, spindle, and Calipers - check for cracks, pits on bearing surfaces, etc.

Good luck.
