If it were me I would go this route. Scott
Are you sure? If Holleys do not fit inline, you can always turn them sideways.

There is a difference in motor mounts and motor mount brackets. I can't say for sure when ford switched, most believe near the end of 65. The 66 mounts are considered better and I think they are about an inch taller the earlier mounts.

You can see the difference in the a parts catalog if they show both parts.

Try downloading NPD's early mustang parts catalog.

Default Yeah I'm sure

Look at the spacing of the carb pads

No way you would get holley's in line there. There would be other problems with turning vacuum secondary carbs sideways not to mention the throttle linkage

My winter project is a 347 that I am installing now. The short block is in and my intake is the Blue Thunder 2x4 (Carl's ford parts) with Holley vacuum 450's using Stelling & Hellings air cleaners. I have test fit this under my stock 65 hood and all fits fine. I am using Ron Morris adjustable motor mounts but not lowered ones, just regular ones needed to adjust my side-to-side a bit and small amount back for header fit. Am a ways from first start yet but if pic needed I can place the intake, carbs and cleaners for a photo

If you're trying to go for a wow factor I'd ditch the dual quad idea and go with an Inglese setup and 4x2 Webber IDA's. It'll perform much better and look much better. Of course, it will also cost an arm, a leg and your firstborn child.

That looks great! I will look up that manifold. Have you selected an air cleaner? If so, have you test fitted it along with the hood?

Great choice on the heads. I am cruious about the other specs on your engine.

Oops!

Started writing this before the picture and left the line in about the air filters.

Still curious about the engines specs. Nice "winter project"!!!

347 is from fordstrokers their 'complete' Liberator short block with their custom hydraulic roller cam. The Twisted Wedge are 190 'fast as cast' heads which they now call their 'track heat' heads

That's either the Ford manifold or a close copy. And what's wrong with the air cleaners he has?
