Ford put a pair of rubber plugs in the hose holes in 67-70 AC Mustangs. These plugs are still available.

Also, does heat come throught the a/c installed vents (does it blend the air)? Or does the heat only blow to the floor and a/c vents only blow cold air (when on the setting).

Was curious because the vintage air catalogue says "A/C exits through dashvents or our under dash louvers. Heat exits at floor."

I haven't started my car yet, so I can't tell you how well it works. You should be able to blend just by adjusting the temperature lever.

If you haven't already bought anything I would make a reccomendation. I have been messing with auto air conditioning since my hanging around my Dad's shop when he began installing aftermarket a/c systems in 1957.

The Ford underdash unit that was commonly used in the 66 Mustang, either factory or dealer installed is a very high quality unit. MUCH higher quality than the plasticy crap that comes from todays aftermarket. The original 66 units are not hard to find and are almost always in great condition.

Use one of the original underdash units and then get a kit from someone like ackits or nostalgicautoair and with the exception of the Sanden compressor, will fit in place almost as the original. Using a Sanden compressor and a parallel flow condensor along with the high quality underdash unit will give you a good performing, high quality system that will look as if it came from the factory, at least in the interior.

There is a knockout in the firewall and a rubber grommet is available that will put the hoses through, properly sealed with minimal hassle. The Sanden mount for the dirvers side would be best and is a high quality piece with beautiful "roll of dimes" TIG welding.

This kinid of system can be had for much less than the afterthought looking units from places like Vintage air and will perform and look better.

My $0.02,
