Default c4 from column to floor shift

I am building a 66 mustang that started as a 6 cly. 3spd. It now has a late model 302 and c-4 out of a 67 something. I was told mustang but I figured out today that it came out something with a column shift. Anyway I have already had it rebuilt and it is in the car. So now I need to find the right shift bracket for the tranny. If anyone knows of anyone that sells one I would be very grateful

I had the same issue. I still have the column shift lever on there and I can't get the damn thing in park half the time. Either I can't get it in there, or it just pops out of Park (especially when I'm on an incline, and you already know how the parking brake isn't worth a dang on these cars).

You have a few options with universal shift levers at the sites below. I haven't been able to find a stock replacement online. You can probably find a stock one at just about any local tranny shop with a spare C4 laying around though. To install, you just drop the pan and the valve body to get to the bolt. I have no excuse for not getting this done myself already.

I ordered this, I had the same problem, I think it's correct. I believe it can be installed by dropping the valve body. I couldn't believe I found it, they are hard to come by, was trying to avoid using a universal. I should have it in a few days.

The reason the column shift levers won't allow the floor shifter to line up right is that they are a different length from the stock floor shift lever.
I thought I had the length written down, but apparently not. IIRC it is about 2.25", hole to hole centers.

The lever should go up.

If your lever is too long you may be able to just drill a new hole for the shift rod.
My lever was too short so I bolted an extension on to it. You could also just cut it short and weld a new piece of flat stock and drill to the correct length.
I'll double check the length if anyone is going to make their own.

The floor shift style lever mentioned above is available from most Mustang vendors, Glazier Nolan, NPD, MU, etc. Does the job perfectly.

Ive got one on a C4 in a jeep. Someone put a complete 289 C4 8" driveline out of a mustang under it and used the stock shifter. I can maybe get it off if your order doesn't turn out right. It is the original for the tranny.
