Default 65 Mustang Emblems

I am in the middle of restoring a 65 fastback. Just wondering why the Mustang 2+2 emblem was not on the front fenders, dont even see holes where they used to be? Did all fastbacks have this emblem in 1965? Thanks

Not sure what's all here, but it might point you in the right direction anyway.

Hope it helps.

Yes they all had the words and numbers Mustang 2+2 on the front fenders, unless you had a 1965 or 1966 Shelby!

There should be holes in the fenders. If not, I might suspect that they are not the original fenders, are they? I wonder

Just like 2Plus2 said, it sounds like you have a pair of repop or NOS fenders! Just drill the holes and be done with it. Not a big deal, unless you're building a Shelby clone then you don't need to drill the fenders, because the Shelbys didnt use the Mustang 2+2 emblems or the Horse emblem and the 289 emblem!
