Default Where is the 'flasher' ?

Wanted to install my LED taillights from MustangProject today but the instructions come with some super grainy photos I can't make anything out of. Where is this flasher I need to replace? Does this involve removing the dash? I can't seem to find it. Anyone got a more clear photo?

I'm not sure on a 68, but on my 66 it was tucked behind my carpeting that laid up against my firewall (sort of near the floor mounted high-beam switch). I would just turn on the blinkers and listen for the "clicking" noise. You should be able to find it pretty quick. I can't imagine you having to remove the dash for that, but again I'm not thoroughly familiar with the 68. Good luck!

Huh. The 68 should be stuck to the back of the instrument cluster, and if not clipped, will be near there.

The 66 is supposed to be in a metal clip on the firewall side of the fresh air vent. You'll have to feel it, you can't see it back there.

Good to know. My fresh air vent is long removed by PO. That might explain why it was tucked behind the carpet.

Must be awful drafty without it.

Haha... yep, it was.... until I blocked it off with a piece of sheet aluminum and some silicone.

You'd be better served blocking it with one of these:

Yep. I seen those units. I'll get to it one of these days. I don't see it being that it's tucked up under the dash, so I keep forgetting about it. I did the quick fix at the time since I was freezing my butt off. I'll get around to it... eventually.

Marco,
It is under the dash next to the steering column, it kind of just floats under there, feel around and you will feel the relay.

It's often loose, especially if replaced with the wrong type.

See the square "nose" on the housing?

You're supposed to stick it in the square hole seen here just to the left of the clock hole (a yellow wire partly obscures it) and turn 90° to lock it in place:
