Default Gas Leak at Fuel Filter

My 67 V6 200 is leaking fuel at the fuel filter where it connects with the autolite 1100 carburetor. When I tried tightening the filter, it appears that either it is stripped or more likely the carburetor threads are stripped. Am I completely out of options on this carburetor?

not sure how it all looks on your end, but i have a standard flex fuel line segment a few inches long that i was able to securely fix, and then i put a threaded adapter at the end of the segment and put the fuel filter on that

If its stripped out, you could try retapping the threads. If you do that you'll have to get all the metal shavings out of the carb before using it though.

there are those metal canister fuel filters in front. they are notorios for breaking at the solder. just replace it with a new one (you can get them for a few bob fifty from NPD etc) and see how that goes

I would use either a retaining compound if it's completely stripped and is like pushing a tube in pipe, or some threadlocker if it has a few threads left in it. Should hold up with out a problem and seal her up. Just use a removable grade of either that you chose.

An industrial pipe sealant, similar to a threadlocker, would do the trick as well. I used some on my intake for the hose connector flange for the coolant.
