Firebird vs. Stang
Hey i have the horse and my brothers got the bird, im pretty sure his stock 350 would kill my 302, but his is automatic and mine is manual. Just want to no cuz i dont want my younger brother gettin a faster car...lol...
Thanks
Thanks
In most cases, a stock 350 vs. a stock 302, the 350 wins every time.
Before I get carried away, if the mustang has low gears (such as 4.11) and the bird has tall gears (such as 3.00) you may actually whip his *** in the short run from light to light, but loose any further than that.
So what you have to do is even up the odds. Add a bunch of over the counter goodies and get about 50hp, than you will be fairly evenly matched. Add a Nitrous Oxide boost and kill him.

Was that in a ¼ mile or street light to street light that you beat a 396 with a 100hp more than a 289?
Granted, the LaMans weighs a butt load more than any mustang of 1970 or older vintage, and a Chevy big block has lousy low end power. But after it gets up in its power band, a stock SB Ford doesn’t have a chance.
But then again, if the LaMans was at the light smoking the tires and not locking up, than a 289 could literally smoke (Pun intended) a Chevy BB.
