Default Electrical problem

I have a 1973 mustang . When I turn the ignition on the fuse that runs the blinkers and radio blows. I know it has to be a short, but any idea were to look?

If its an aftermarket radio start there. Start by pulling the radio out and disconnecting the power to it.

I dont know jack about the 73s you could try pulling the connectors for the lights as well...If that doesnt solve the problem then the issue is along the wire anywhere just after the fuse box to just after the radio or turn signal bulbs...

Do you have a multimeter?

When did it last work right?

Did you do anything since then and now?

It has been working. It blew the fuse and I put in a new one and it worked for about 10 min. Now it blows them as soon as you turn on the ignition. I have looked at the wires under the dash but saw no skinned up or burnt wires. I have had the car for about a wk and have not drove it munch. The previous owner put a new steering wheel on, I am wondering if maybe he pinched a wire on the singnal switch

Thats indeed a possibility.

You might try the FAQ section here and look for a 73 wiring diagram.

Follow the wire path and see where they all go. The most likely spot for a short is at any load source such as a radio or at the blinker light housing AND anywhere the wire goes through a metal sheet or frame (the metal may rub into the insulation and contact the hot wire causing a short)

good luck
