I painted mine windveil blue metallic, also one of the new mustang colors, but it is a lighter blue. I saw this color on another classic mustang and knew it was what I wanted.

Thanks for the comments so far. If this were a more valuable car we would keep it correct but it was originally wimbledon white and has been painted several times over the years. We have added disc brakes, aluminum radiator and three point belts and have centerline rims for it, so it won't be a concours car by any means.

I know it doesn't make sense when going with a newer color but would like to use one of the newer mustang colors as a nod to Mustangs. My son has done all the work along side of me so I am letting him make the color decision. I have to keep reminding myself that a 16 year old will be driving this to high school so we are painting the car ourselves (with help from a painter) in our barn. Goal is to have a nice straight driver for him when it is done.

BTW: This site has been a tremendous help to us. I have used the information posted here to research everything from new suspension to drip rails to replacing floorboards. THANKS TO ALL THE POSTERS for your experience.

My 68 was originally Wimbledon white as well but I went with lime gold metallic, a color that came on my 67 vert in my younger days. They re-released it as "Legend Lime" on the 05-06 Mustangs making it easier to get your hands on for a reasonable price (though some will tell you it's a slightly different shade).

I think anyone of those shades of blue would look just fine, none of them have looked the least bit bad to me.

Take a look at honda blue. I forget the name of the color. There was only one dark metallic one. I compared a paint chip to my car and like that better.

my car.

BTW, my buddy is a car painter and we couldn't find a match to my car.

I believe Evil used a Lexus IS300 blue. Pretty color but I like the blue on the new mustang a bit more. It would be easier to keep looking good since it is slightly lighter.
