Default Help us with paint color

Almost to paint stage on our 65 I6 coupe. My 15 year old son has had a picture of a blue Shelby on his wall since he was six so we are going blue.

We are thinking about using the 2008 Mustang "Vista Blue". Has anyone seen an old mustang with this or a close color? What do you think about the choice?

I haven't seen it to my knowledge but if it looks as good as that pic he just posted then i think it would look great.

That's it racincoupe66. We looked at the new Kona blue but thought it was too dark. Looks great on the newer cars and we think it would look pretty hot on the coupe. Just need a push off theege of the paint cliff.

Thats a great color. I like that shade of blue.

I went with caspian blue on mine. I like the vintage colors better than the late model colors on the classics. That doesn't mean that your car would not look good though.

A "correct" period color that looks like you examples is "Guardsman Blue". Factory correct for 64, it was avaialble by special order as late as 66, at least. A friend of mine had a 66 GT in Guardsman Blue original paint. And of course Guardsman Blue was the color on racing Cobras.
