Default Transmission

I am currently running a C4 but a guy I know just removed a C6 from a '69 and I could pick it up for a couple of hundred.

The transmission does not have any problems / issues and the only reason he pulled it was to upgrade to an AOD.

Would this be an upgrade or simply not worth the hassle to remove the C4, etc?

Won't fit your '66 unless you modify the tunnel.

Interesting. The smallblock C6 was not available in 69. Wonder where it came from. You sure it's not an FMX?

Maybe...I wasn't considering it too seriously and I am not sure what he has to be honest.

For $200 I was tempted to buy it and turn around and sell it for $400.

Why would you want to trade a nice lightweight transmission for a boat anchor? Makes no sense to me

X2---You would be going in the wrong direction. C4 is perfectly cable of living behind most small blocks--by adding the weight and power loss of the C6 you will be hurting yourself.

FordC-6 eats about 55-60 hp before you spin tires FordC-4 is about 28-30 hp
