Default changing the cam ...

Hi all,

finally I'm getting to it, last night i ripped the engine apart. was quite quick. 3 hours or so with a friend helping. I did the front, he did the top ;-)

was all going good, the only bummer is that i couldn't get the connector of my water temp sensor. the screw keeps turning the inside of sensor. will figure something.
today I'll pull the cam and see what's wrong with it, replace and put together with the new comp cams ...

the chain is quite stretched. that normal after only maybe 6000 miles?
anyway, i have a new cloyes dual roller set

... and so much for the engine seller telling me there's no fuel pump eccentric onm cam !!!! *****. was feckn around with electgric pumps for a few months

well it's mostly back together again, just mising the pushrods. will give it a run tomorrow to break in the cam.
just as I suspected already, number 5 cylinder is a problem (4th lobe from front):

ya you could actually see it already watching the rockers with engine idling. i'm delighted it was a no hassle swap. usually I end up with all sorts of crap and problems.

kalli,

You probably said so in another thread, but what cam grind did you put in.

BTW, nice work!
