You could also put a centri blower on it later - Vortech or Paxton.

Actually, with a carb'd setup a blow through Procharger would be awesome. Blow through carb setups function as an evaporative cooler, working much like an intercooler. A blow through carb with an intercooler and 10:1 compression properly tuned with a centri blower can easily run 12-15psi on pump fuel. IIRC according to Procharger's info, an intercooled blow through carb setup on pump fuel with 10:1 compression can run close to 20psi of boost properly tuned.

Blow through carb setups can be difficult to tune, and you need someone who knows how to tune carbs and a good blow through carb to do it. But when they're on, they make retarded amounts of power.

My $0.02. Make sure you or someone who knows what they are doing does the math on your pistons based on your exact bore, combustion chamber, and stroke. DO NOT take the compression number you see in the catalog for fact. Unless your setup exactly matches what the company used for stats, the compression ratio they advertise is WRONG. Do the math and make sure that the piston compression height, dish/dome, and piston to deck height is right for your setup to give you the compression number you want. Custom pistons are not much more expensive that packaged deals and are easy to have made from someone like Ross, JE, or several others.

Go here, and select pistons from the menu on the right. They have a pretty big list of high quality pistons, which is by no means comprehensive. There's probably more than 2 manufacturers for what you need. I'd actually be surprised is someone like Mahle didn't make pistons for your app. Also try checking out Diamond's site, they make a lot of pistons for different setups like that as well. And Mahle and Diamond are 2 of the best pistons makers out there(also pricier than most).

I run Mahle in my 302. They make MANY pistons for factory engines, including the GM LSX family. They're also the exclusive piston manufacturer for Formula 1 engines. So if they can make pistons that hold together in sustained 20,000rpm engines making 900+hp, then you won't hurt them.

Of course the big irony I find in Mahle, is while the pistons are precision engineered to a VERY exacting standard(every single piston is hand/eye inspected by a master machinist before leaving the factory), they're elegantly simple.
