Is the engine stock or going to stay stock? If it has or will have mods, then I wouldn't do just a stock rebuild. And it depends on the rebuild kit, you could get 2 "stock" kits and one has crap parts and the other doesn't.

Before I got any responses on this thread, I was going around the car today checking everything and I felt I was a little low on trans fluid. I didn't add that much, but Im up to the fill line on the dipstick. Ill take it for a spin tomorrow and see if anything has changed...I highly doubt it though. Cant really afford a rebuild right now.

Kinda sucks, cause Im about to buy a 351w...kinda puts a damper on that if my tranny might die. Its been doing this for a while, though...obviously I want to fix it, but it still drives well. Until I try for some WOT action, and then I slip.

There is a place down in your car where a host of demons dwell it’s a product of your nightmares Dante’s worst vision of hell. It’s a harvester of evil that no one can control and it’s here to take your soul. Don’t try to fight it There’s nothing you can do C4 rebuild is coming for you. The band adjustment only Satan could devise one whiff of this **** and you will want to gouge out both your eyes. Scream about it all you want you’ll only waste your breath between this and death by bunga bunga you’ll choose death.

Sorry I couldn't help myself...

Actually I hear its almost not quite THAT bad.

I am hesatant to post this but a trick shady car dealers use is to over fill the tranny a couple of quarts. This will help increase pump pressure to the clutch packs and keep them from slipping. You might want to keep a couple of quarts in your trunk just in case you need something to help you make it home sometime.

Also if your looking at a used car and the trannys overfilled walk away.
