Default DOUBLE TROUBLE

A friend and I went to a Mothers day car show today and had a little double trouble. Driving into the show a fence post stuck out of a gate and damaged the side of my friends car causing about a three foot scratch down the passenger side of the car. That sort of spoiled the day. Then we went to drive out and I started my car and drove a foot before the 65 stalled and I had no power. Checked the terminals on the battery all good. Fuses were good. Got on the ground and checked the started motor and it looked like the wire to the relay had been blown for some reason. We tried to fix it but kept getting huge amounts of spark so I think I have a problem with the grounding/wire to the ignition/or solenoid. Any suggestions?

Anyhow got it towed home and this is how double trouble ended up. Waiting for the sparky to come tomorrow to check it all out.
