..its only original once! Chances of it ever returning to original after is zero.
So true........
Do what makes you enjoy "your" car, not what someone else may enjoy later. If your in this hobby for the pay-out in the end, I would invest in stocks. Better return on your money...

QFT.. ive accepted that with ANY car project its gonna be a loss.. that way when you sell it (if thats the plan for the project) any gain is just a plus.
plus theres not a ton of emotional attachment to the NYSE
The main reason I don't like seeing the more rare cars modded out isn't for today's value but for tomorrows. Think of the value of a fully stock A-code car in 20 years from today. Will there be ANY stock original A-code, K-code, etc cars 20 years from now? Not the way things are going. If you do happen to find one well.. again, think of its value then.
I'd never be upset of annoyed at someone for modding out their car. It is after all your car.
Excuse my colossal ignorance here, but is there that much difference in value between A codes and others? I've got a '66 convertible A code that I was planning on doing some restomod stuff to. Already have discs up front, but would like to switch to a T5 and do some suspension upgrades as well as adding subframe connectors.
I can't believe there's more than a 10-15% difference btw A and C on any model. But the lower the sell price, the less actual dollar difference it is. So the less desireable the model or condition, the less it matters. BUT it only REALLY matters if you are selling it. And unless it's a concourse stock show queen, I think well done mods (especally if they retain a stock look) and safety mods actually increase value (certainly on "driver" class).
Your enjoyment and safety while you own it and drive it is worth alot too and that investment pays off everytime you drive it.
