Default starter caught up

hey, just off of a thread where I had problems turning the engine by hand while it was in my engine bay, connected to the transmission.

The engine is a 289, and the trans is a toploader 4 speed.

I found out the starter was catching the flywheel making it impossible for it and the rest of the engine to spin. The teeth didnt seem to line up.

I got the starter from CJPONYPARTS - and it is for 3/4 speed manual trans and my engine size.

How do I line up the starter teeth to the flywheel teeth, so I can finally start my car?

Try and provide more detail.
Was it fine before changing the starter?
What else has been apart?
What do you mean "the starter was catching the flywheel" (how and where) and "The teeth didn't seem to line up." (in what way)

Around here too many words are better than too few.

from the other thread he has a engine with transmission and starter on it. the engine is seized. can't turn manually at crank. removes starter, engine sprins freely.
