Smooth..... Hah!

Got sick and lost at least a week.

Found a broken oil pan in the block. Had to take it to a machine shop. Lost a week.

Fretting a little over how the AOD conversion will go. I bought the conversion kit, so I'm hoping that will be smooth.

End the end, its all fun though.

I have to say it, I am sure you know already, but make sure the TV cable is set right or things won't go smoothly at all....

I took the transmission to a shop to have it rebuilt. When I picked it up, I told them I was going to get the car running, but not put it in gear. I told them I'd roll it onto a trailer and take it to them to have them adjust the TV cable properly.

After doing my research, I'm relatively confident I could to it myself. But I think I'll take it to them just so they won't be able to renege on the warranty.

Lynn
I brushed POR 15 on the floor pans, frame, and cross member. I used a rattle can on the firewall and inner fenders.

[QUOTE=What did you use for the engine paint? [/QUOTE]

I used rattle cans of hi-temp engine enamel. Old Ford Blue on the block and Silver on the intake manifold, bought at the local AutoZone.

Almost done. Lots of "that didn't go as expected" moments with this AOD conversion. But the car is on the road again.

I still need to put the hood back on.

I haven't decided on plug wires. I can't decide between keeping blue ones, changing to yellow Accel wires (old school hot rod style), or black wires to complement the black valve covers. I can't keep it as it is with one yellow and 8 blue wires, that's for sure!

Black wires look good with black valve covers I recently switched over to black wires after having 5 yellow and 3 purple

Thats cool that its back together now. My vote goes for black or blue plug wires. I'm runnin blue ones right now, but may switch to black ones at some point. I'm not big on the yellow ones.

I like the valve covers. Been thinking about getting some of those.

My current ones are chrome and a real pita to keep clean. They've got a haze from something on them and I can't get them clean.

Car looks great!

The blue wires look good. Only other color I'd consider would be black.

By the way, where did you pick up your radiator hoses from?

The machined fins on the valve covers are going to be just as much PITA as my old aluminum ones, but not near as much work.

I bought the steel-braided hose cover kit from AutoZone. I covered my existing hoses.

Where in Houston are you? I'm the Clear Lake area, close to NASA.

tx65coupe, where are you located?
