windshield trim

Default windshield trim

ok, finaly got the glass back in. Now i cant figure out how to install the front and rear window molding. Have new clips a bunch of small ones and 6 larger clips aw do you get the clips in the molding?

The clips don't go in the moulding. They go on the pinchweld channel between the rubber glass seal and the body. Once the clips are installed, you pump glass bedding compound into the seal and channel, install the moulding. You should install the mouldings immediately after the compound is inserted.

Thanks 2+2, is the procedure the same for a 68 coupe?

The clips in the image are the screw-on 64-65 type, 66-73 had push-on clips that go on little nail heads welded to the pinchweld. Other than that, yes.

Excellent the diagram helped a lot. Except i broke to of the studs off, which sucks because the glass is all ready in. Next time i will follow instructions and install then first. can i use some sort of sealant to hole the trim down where the studs broke off?

Not real well. Look at it this way, with no sealant or moulding on the glass it comes out in minutes. Then you can install the 65-type screw-in clips, or if you have access, spot-weld the nail-type studs in.
