Default 68 coupe rough idle help.

ive been working on my family owned 68 for a while now and while i still have the original 289 in my shop. i put in a modded 302, ive got it in and running fine but i have real problem with idle in drive (its auto c-4).
the engine i rebuilt myself. its an explorer 5.0 with a B303 cam. stock springs etc.. actually the b303 cam is the only significant change.

im running a factory 68 four bbl intake with 1 inch spacer and a holley 600 with electric choke. i got pertronix in the dizzy with flamethrower coil. the car starts and runs perfect except when i drop her in drive it bogs down and stalls unless i keep feathering the pedal, this makes for real embarassing ride.

do i need a better converter im using the original one. ive looked at the bm holeshot 2400 and the tci sizzler. any ideas

i got my idle set a 900 rpm in park. and timing set a 10 btdc with vacumm line pulled and plugged. talk to me any ideas are appreciated
