Default Shifter Suggestions for T5Z?

I think I have decided to go with this Ford Motorsport T5Z transmission:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=1879

And was wondering out of these three shifters (MGW, Pro 5.0, Tri-Ax), which one would work best with a Shelby center console and Hurst stick?

If they are all the same, which of the three is the most comfortable and least notchy?

Thanks & have a happy 4th!

As far as geometry goes, they're all going to use the stock geometry and shouldn't affect placement of the shift lever in the console.

All of them are going to be notchy when compared to the stock shifter. I have a Tri-Ax in my 5.0 and I like it. I was actually looking for a Pro 5.0 (which I've used in the past), but I got the Tri-Ax at a steal. I've heard MGW shifters are pretty much as good as it gets, and are adjustable to boot, but they do cost more.

If you do switch from the stock shifter, don't go any cheaper than one of those three. The Hurst/B&M units are cheap and sloppy IMO, and anything else is only going to get worse.

I have a Tri-Ax on my World Class T-5 and love it. I have the "Stock" looking shifter and it shifts very cleanly with no rubbery feeling at all.

I have a tri-ax

I made this ugly shift lever for it...you can make an ugly one pretty simple too.

Tri Ax on my TKO 600, solid shifter. Any of the 3 listed will be fine.

I went with the Tri-Ax, can't wait to get the new trans and short shifter in. I have a hurst stick that works well with my center console so I will probably stick with it for now. This may be a stupid question, but should I also think about upgrading the clutch while everything is out of the car or would the labor be the same if I decided to do it later on down the line?

I would. I've run multiple Centerforce Dual Frictions, and on even mild setups they work great, and with limited power they last forever. On the setup I have now I got a bunch of miles on the clutch and it's fine. There are other good clutches as well, but it wouldn't hurt to upgrade as long as you have it apart.
