Are you checking the timing with the vac line disconnected? it should be.

Try giving it a few more degres of advance and see if it improves

ok after some recent issues in life i have had some time to check out the timing again. to my surprise the the timing was way off, sitting at 0* tdc, after readjusting it to the proper timing it is running beautiful again. the only issue left is i need to get a new metering rod for the driverside to reset it back to the stock settings because somehow the original got bent while in the carb. thanks to everyone who gave me ideas on what to check to help fix my cars engine troubles.
