Default engine wiring

I've got a 289 that wont do anything. I've got it all wired properly (i think) but I'm starting to think that the stock wires are toast. What I want to purchase is the wires from the relay to the alternator, and from the firewall to the coil and distributor.

What else besides wires would keep anything from clicking or the starter engaging when I turn the key? I've tried to jump it too, and that didnt work.

Could it be the alternator?

no, not the alternator. the alternator only charges the battery. it could be a bad or missing ground, bad switch, bad starter relay, or some other wire is loose or missing.

your best bet is to grab a volt/ohm meter, put it on beep mode, and start checking every wire between the battery and the starter. blindly replacing wires may or may not fix the problem.
