You will get better answers in your car's designated section.

You need to find Top Dead Center, aka, tdc. Manually turn the engine over until #1 cylinder is coming up on compression stroke. You can tell this when the spark plug is removed and your finger is covering the hole. Now start looking for the tdc mark on the balancer, the location where you'd point your timing light.

In your distributor, move the rotor to point to #1 wire. Be careful as you put the distributor in, as it will turn and you will no longer be pointing to #1. Just work with the turning thing. Once in, you'll be close enough to fire it up, then adjust your timing from there with the light.
