No Longer Have Ignition Key
To remove the ignition lock all you need to do is unfold a paper clip and insert it into the small hole in the face of the ignition switch. Rotate the switch to pull it out. Get a new switch from a vendor with the new set of keys. Now, wasn't that easy?

I think you need the original key in the tumbler to turn the tumbler with the paper clip in place, in order to remove it.
With out the original key you need a set of locksmith tools, or a hard wax blank.
They idea behind the hard wax blank is that you insert it and turn it against the tumbler pins. This leaves an impression in the hard wax. File out the impressions and use it as a master.
Probably run about $50.00 if you hot wire the car and take it to local locksmith.
If you try to rip it out, you'll ruin the dash, which is keyed to keep the whole thing from turning.
If you hot wire the car, buy an external ballist resistor and put it in the wire you run to the coil, so that you don't end up burning up your coil before you get to the locksmith. They will make house calls but it's usually a lot more expensive.
Call around to a few places to get a price. A good locksmith will have your tumbler out faster than you can say..."I'm locking the garage from now on!!!"
Good luck,

Yeah, that's true. You probably need to have a locksmith make you another key, then there would be no need to get a new cylinder. Here is a step-by-step article on how to remove it if you need to. http://mustangmonthly.com/howto/173_...es/index1.html
I was in your position not too long ago and was able to pull through it fine. You will need a new ignition lock, which does not cost a whole lot and will leave you with brand new keys! You can salvage the switch and the bezel that holds the switch on, but the lock must be destroyed. So, how I did it was I took out the drill with I think a 1/4" or 3/8" bit, see what looks best and just started drilling into where the key normally would go. This busted out all of the tumblers and with some minor persuasion popped right out. Just be sure not to drill too far into the lock because the switch is right in there behind it and be sure to disconnect your battery, because nobody likes sparks under the dash. Hope this helps ya.
