So my girl just got this 70 coupe an it has the stock exhaust manifolds to like 1 inch straight pipes wit some dinky little mufflers now im a 5.0 guy an i got some extra stock 5.0 header an a offroad xpipe an sum billit racing tubes for catback that i think would sound mean on her 70 coupe. i've askd this question before an all i got was "try it out" so i was wondering again before i do all the work to find out it dont fit does anyone know if it would fit?? of course i'd make hangers so it'd mount right but would there be any clearance issues?? i'd appreciate any input thanks!

 

The Fox headers won't fit the First Generation Mustang.

 

U will need the Shorty Headers they will work great without any mods,an go with 2.5 exhaust,with flowmaster mufflers will sound awesome

 

I agree with 2.5 inch exhaust if your going to mod it some. If your going to keep the engine mostly stock 2.25 inch exhaust is fine. By the way go with anything besides Blowmaster. I had Dronemasters and could not stand their hollow tin can sound. I like Dynomax Ultraflo and Magnaflow best. Straight through > chamberd mufflers.

 

you can use the off road H-pipe but will have to mod some stuff... I have a 70 and went with a 2.5 exhaust kit from Jegs. I am very happy with it.
