winter is around the corner...
Hey everyone-
sorry havent been on here much, dont have internet access from home anymore[&:]...anyways its getting closer to winter time and that means snow where i live. Unfortunetly i dont have a garage but i have my mustang in the back yard with a tarp and car cover over it....someone told me that i should lift the car off the ground in the winter time and have it on mounds...is this a good thing to do?

Yes, if you can, put the car on blocks, under the TIRES. It will help save them. On lite days, I would even start it to keep the fluids circulated thru the system.
Make sure the tarp is breathable, so condensation doesn't build up and turn into rust and corrosion.
Good advice from 68Coop to start it up as often as you can. If you block it up securely you can even run it a little in gear, turn the steering wheel, etc.

Just make sure the tires are off the ground. Double check your anti-freeze solution to make sure it is good to go for your weather conitions, and make sure the gas tank is totally full with fuel. That will help to decrease condensation in the tank. You might also want to get some "Sta-Bil" fuel stabilizer to put in the tank if you expect to not run it for several months. As mentioned, the cover should be able to breathe. Just a plain tarp is not the ticket. Especially if it is a plastic tarp.
