Default Clutch Linkage Problems

I've been battling clutch problems for a good while now, which all started from a hard pedal. I started getting a really hard pedal feel which led me to believe my clutch was going out. I heard a pop and my clutch was gone so I thought.

I popped open the hood and saw my upper rod was bent( still thought it was due to the clutch). My upper rod had a extension it that the previous owner put on that I thought was factory to extent the rod enough to engage the clutch I thought this was factory until i started doing research on it.

Long story short i put in a new zoom clutch in and I had to extent to rod to try to get the clutch to engage. I still had the hard pedal feel but i thought it was due to the heavier clutch, the rod bent again. I since bought a new equalizer bar, bushing, rods. the previous owner welded the frame side pivot bracket which the pivot point is lose. which I think might be part of my problem along with the z-bar not having any of the bushings in place. I'm trying to get the new z bar in place and i'm having a hard time getting the engine side mounted. I've done everything including unbolting the mounts and jacking the engine up.

I'm thinking the bracket might also be incorrect. Can someone post a picture of the engine side mounting location and the whole set up in general. The exploded views i've been seeing dont show the mount location.

The car is a 65 with a 87 302.

Any other thoughts on what my problem could be.

The 87 engine has no place to mount the stock 65 engine-mounted pivot, and you must use an adapter bracket to create one. I like to insert the frame-end pivot in the equalizer (Z bar) before installing. The stock 65 linkage will work perfectly if installed properly. Is the pedal pivot shaft mount screwed up in your car? Sounds like it.

This is the adapter.

thats the bracket I was looking at online...There is a bracket thats on there but I think it's a homemade one. I'm having problems getting both ends of the z-bar in because the frame side is welded in so I can't move anything, is that the pedal pivot your talking about?
thanks for the confirmation on the bracket.
