another ac question
I have searched the posts and have not been able to find the answer to my question. I have a 66 mustang that i am restoring. I have the original ac. I bought a new drier and condensor. I know that the sanden is very good but i do not have the money for it. I have seen newer model car compressors are alot cheaper. My question is, do any of these work on my 289 or are they not able to make fit? I would really like the sanden but am to poor. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative.
My other question is, with the compressor mounted on the engine, is the bottom fitting the low side or the high side?
Would i be better off just having the original one rebuilt? I think its a york.

The aluminum-case Yory is hit or miss on rebuild, the iron Tecumseh is better in this regard. The OE compressors work OK, and can last forever, my original Tecumseh is still working. What's wrong with the pump you have?

Not an AWFUL price, I remember buying these on sale for $130 for big trucks, these should be cheaper, but all in all....
