Upper control arms without shims?
If you are going to use an adjustable strut rod for caster adjustment on a 65-66 you will also need to have the spherical bearing pivot on the LCA to replace the rubber bushing. The rubber bushing was not designed to have a forward flex by pulling the LCA arm forward to gain positive caster. If are going to box in the LCA , Opentracker sells the bearing for a DIY to install.
Good point..I have not seriously considered those rods.
But I could also see the advantage of those rods and how they "prevent" certain movement more so than using them to move the LCA during alignment.
I wonder why nobody makes a strut rod with a front pivot that still has a fixed length? It could be a cost effective improvement since most of these cars will still end up using UCA shims anyway.
