Default Upper control arms without shims?

OK, so I think I am getting close to ordering my new front suspension bits but I am still curious about this whole "Shim" thing. Right now my car has about a 1" stack on the drivers side and I gotta say I would prefer to do it another way, what control arms have built in adjustment that can allow me to do away with the shims all together?

EDIT> Without Breaking the bank?

I see TCP has a set with droped shafts for $719 a set. This seems like it may be the way to go, it would take the place of a Shelby/Arning drop without needing to drill the holes? But thats a bunch of $$ for arms IMHO.

If you have a 1" stack you seriously need to get the car looked at. I have high-mile car with the Arning Drop and I still don't have anywhere near that much.

I read that after the drop you will remove about 1/2 of what you had before...

Maybe. It's been a LONG time since I drilled it. However, I've never seen one with more than 4-5 shims, certainly an INCH is way too much and indicates bad repair, accident, or both. I'm surprised the bolt is long enough.

The aprons are original to the car and no sign of damage....but I guess it's possible that cheap replacement parts were put on by an amateur or are worn beyond any usable service. Either way it's all going in the scrap pile next week.

You could get LCA with adjustments. I think the TCP does that? Their upper arms are adjustable as well, but honestly that much adjustment can get most people(and alignment shops) into major trouble sometimes.

And yeah, you shouldn't have that much shimming.

The 64-66 type requires spacers. The 67-73 used no spacers, adjustment was via adjustable strut rod and LCA inner cam bolt.

For a 66 I have read you can eliminate shims by:
Opentracker LCA with spherical bearing pivot http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/streetlower/
Adjustable strut for caster adjustment http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/strutrod/
Lower Control Arm Camber Kit http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/camberkit/

Yeah...I think a new set of Moog ,possibly Mcquay-Norris LCA's if I can find them locally, with some boxing added in since it's really a cheap DIY.
I am considering the OTR uppers and roller spring perches. I just dont know if I will need the roller upper/lower arms on the street. For that kinda money I can consider tubular arms.
