Default Electric versus manual fuel pump

The friend helping me get my mustang running again is highly recommending picking up an electric fuel pump.

Can someone here help me understand the advantages (or disadvantages) of electric versus manual fuel pump?

Also is the Edelbrock the way to go or which electric fuel pump would you recommend?

There is another long thread about this just a few days ago. Don't go electric.

Just for the record, I'll be using an electric. I don't know which, yet, but it's the way I'm going for multiple reasons including the ability to wire it as a theft deterrent that's much harder to wire around than ignition or starter.

you can debate over the 2 for years. imo its all preference. I would go electric if its a high power build or your deciding to go EFI but if the engine is fairly mild, stick with the mechanical, its cost efficient and extremely reliable and wont drain the cars power.
