Default unforeseen problems with coolant change?

First time project. 69 302 convertible.

It sat for about 15 years without being driven. 56k original miles.

Coolant is leaking. I noticed some minor pooling on top of radiator, but most was coming from the bottom hose. I plan to replace all the hoses and belts anyway, so the next project is the radiator and its hoses.

Are there any problems I should anticipate with just filling up the radiator with new coolant after installing new hoses? Whats in there now looks pretty green, but didn't want to loosen any unseen crap thats built up in there.

Don't forget to replace the t-stat too!! Your heater core should be good if it was still green but do yourself a favor and do the t-stat so it doesn't fail after it's running.
