Often it is better to keep as much good OEM metal as possible.

Think twice before disturbing factory seams.

If factory seams are bad then have at it.

Also, just looking at your pictures I can't decide if your car needs new floors or not. Maybe I'm wrong but the floors look to be ok. Are there any spots where it's rusted through? I can't really tell if that's just dirt or rust.

Hey guys, its been a while since i last posted but heres an update on the restoration. Most of the sheet metal work is done now, all the floors have been replaced, along with the battery box and toe board. The only thing left is to replace a skin on the drivers side door. We got our hands on a 3-speed with a hurst shifter as well as all of the linkage to put it together so its well on its way!

Pictures will be up soon! We're sending off the engine block this week to be machined and resurfaced so we can get it reassembled.

We came across a 289 that came out of a '68 fastback that had been rebuilt a while back so we went ahead and snagged it. It'll save us about a thousand bucks not having to get the old block remachined! Pictures up tomorrow
