Suspension time
hey mr velocity i know i just joined the forum but my 66 coupe is for sale ive got a heidts m II front end thats alredy welded in but ive got a brand new tcp pushrod 4link system w/double adj coilovers. the car is is just a roller with new sheet metal. my name is bobby feel free to give me a call at 662-322-5477
I saw in another post you recommended Shaun but I'm unable to find any information on him. How do I get in touch with him?
The Opentracker UCA with the roller is more expensive then the TCP UCA and its not adjustable. Not sure why I would want to go this route unless the TCP UCA is not good.
I guess the first real question is "Is there really an advantage to having an adjustable UCA?"
Global West also has a nice UCA, though not adjustable.

From what I understand, the G west arms have already place the upper ball joint back about 3 degrees of caster. Shaun can tell you how to preset some caster in his arms. The TCP arms make me nervous. The ease and temptation to adjust the arm once installed would be hard for a piece rate paid alignment specialist to overcome.

So I think I got it figured out, going to make some calls on Monday. Going Global West uppers, keeping my stock lowers but will do (myself) some of the opentracker mods to beef then up. Install new ball joints and replace the stock bushings with spherical bearings (if I can get them). Adjustable strut rods, not sure from who yet. Also working on spindles since I need to do discs on the front, I want the bigger spindles.
For steering, TCP power r&p is still at the top of the list.
In the mean time, machine shop called and I picked up my 1990 302HO short block last night. Was surprised how out of balance the stock rotating assembly was. I also need to identify the rear that came on the car, I know its a 9" posi with disc brakes but that's it.....no tag on it either.
