Did your friend use a cassette adapter to his iPod, or was there an adapter like what was suggested above in the thread?

Yeah, that's how I listen to the ipod in my daily driver 15 yr old Volvo, through the cassette player and the sound is MUCH better than the radio. On my Mustang however, it's my only choice ($$$) now.
