shaking above 50 mph

If its a tire problem you can usually find it by rotating tires- front tire prob will shake the steering wheel. I'd check the shocks, worn shocks will make small issues cause shaking. When you tap on the brakes lightly does it stop? Any weird wear patterns on the tires?

I have installed 4sets of new tires on my Mustang.I have the current tires forced balanced by Ford.I have an original 1968 Ford Motor Company service manual.The manual says driving at a certain speed for a period.The driver my experience a vibrationim convertibles.Ford was aware of the problem.My other 1968 Mustang,restored did the same thing.New tires and even had the tires shaved.Problem still there.The problem is not going away.I have talked to many 67 68 Mustang convertibles owners and they experience the same thing.Inherit in convertibles.

I have spoken to a 1965 Mustang convertible owner and he said his car starts shaking a 50 mph and then goes away.Completely restored.It is called cowl shake and is common in most convertibles.Removing the top reduces the strength of the car.It ain't going away.

I have never heard of cowl shake. I do not have that problem.

I have had 2 68 Mustangs that did it at that 50 mph zone.A friend of mine has a 65 Mustang convertible that does it.He had and I have the export bars.My car only has 75k origininal miles.He has the monte carlo bars.It is strange that both my 68 Mustangs shaked at the same speed.My friend got rid of his 67 convertible and bought a 73 Mustang convertible.Look up cowl shake on Wikipedia.It explains the term.You have totally different wheels and tires.That maybe a factor.

Or just put in "What is cowl shake" on the Internet.It gives you the definition.I love my Mustang and I drive it a lot.I am not making this stuff up.My entire suspension is new from from to back.Above average in condition.No rust and has never been wrecked.My other 68 Mustang restored did the same thing.
