Default 65 fastback

hello all i am new to this forum and have a question about a 65 fb.
I have found a 65 fastback 2+2 with 6 cyl 3 spd. in pretty ruff shape. I am trying to come up with a price, would $5000.00 by to insulting of an offer?

If by rough you mean rusty, it's not worth even that much. How about some pics?

i dont know about the east coast prices but on the west coast, 5K for a rough fastback is borderline deal/average price. For comparison, my neighbor purchased 2 fastback shells,no drivetrains for 1500 each and that was about 10+ years ago.

10 years ago that was a good deal. Now it would be a steal. 5 grand for a slightly rusted, driveable car is a good deal even though it's a 6 cylinder.

I paid $1,800.00 for this cream puff. The PO threw in new fenders, new quarters, hood, and rear valance. No motor, no tranny. It was a 4spd car, so at least it had that going for it... I ended up replacing the complete floor, firewall, dash, rockers, wheel houses, and cowl side panels. She is rust free now....
