Misfire Dilema
So it's been a while and I've finally had the good weather, funding and the time to try and get it running. I decided on swapping out the cast 2BBL for an Edelbrock Torquer 4BBL that came with the car. I'm pretty sure the trouble was some kind vacuum leak. When I pulled off the carb there was a bunch of gasoline puddled up in between the carb spacer and the manifold on the driver side. So now I have the new manifold on, the new carb on, and I've been getting it back together piece by piece whenever I get the chance. Unfortunatly I ran into some trouble today. When I was taking out the oil dipstick during disassembly the tube broke off in the hole. I didn't think much of it and figured I could probably pull it out with some needle nose later because it broke off right at the beveled edge that keeps it from going all the way in. Well today I was trying to get it out and I'm having a really hard time with it. I'm afraid to mess with it too much as it is chipping little pieces off and I don't want a bunch of chips going in the crankcase. I should also add that with my current living situation and lack of proper tools I can't pull the engine nor can I remove the oil pan. Has anyone else ever dealt with this before? Any advice or ideas? Thanks in advance! -Jon
