Default A/C air conditioning

Ok, perhaps right now is the appropriate time to discuss cold stuff...especially since it's blazing cold throughout most of the country, lol.

But...and excuse my ignorance...

...are all A/Cs created equal?

Meaning, will an original 64-66 A/C system work on both 6 cylinder and V8?

Or are they different altogether systems?

How about auto vs manual?

Same, different?

Thanks guys, you know I gots tons of love for all of yous...

Hec

can't give you nuts and bolts but what you pay for is what you get,,bought a setup for my 1966 ,,,,6 popper and the compressor keeps craping out,,real compressors cost approc 275? and will last,,also in retrospec I'd rather have had a more retro looking evaporater

...and what's better...getting a working original...or one of these new ones on the market?

Are the news ones from Classic Air any good?

Other than the different compressor brackets, they are the same.

Or are they different altogether systems?
Nahh.

How about auto vs manual?
No difference.

Well, OE systems are excellent, but will cost more than the aftermarket units.

Are the news ones from Classic Air any good?
Yeah. I haven't installed their "Perfect Fit" system, but their under-dash suffers only from being so cold you might blow condensation at yourself.
