Default Need Help: Control Valve

Hey guys I can't figure out how to remove the shorter power steering hoses attached to the control valve. I am speaking about the side that goes through the little mount thingy (not the side that actually goes into the power cylinder). I see that both the pressure and return side have nuts on each side, but I can't get any type of wrench or channel-locks on them. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

You need a flare nut wrench.

I couldn't imagine doing power steering work in my job with crowsfoot wrenches. Would these get you closer to what you need? http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&s...w=1345&bih=547

As long as he chose the flare-nut type:

As I'm sure you have experienced by now, the thick collared wrenches will not fit between the nut on the tubing, and the control body, Especially on the Pressure hose.

So, if you are changing the hoses, cut the tubing off the nut, then use a 6 point socket to remove the nut.

This will work on all the fixtures.

Make sure you change the seats. Leakage reoccuring after adding new hoses is a high percent factor.

Actually, brute force is a way of life. When that fails, read the directions.
