Default Build thread '70 H code Mach 1.

Unfortunately I didn't take 'before' pics, but the front and back bumpers were shot, the pass fender and headlight bucket were badly dented, the Ivy interior was shot, and the hood has some significant rust. As you can see it is sitting on MOPAR wheels, but the Mag 500 15X8's will be in tomorrow. Current costs: $8k for the car, $5400 in reciepts.

Battery box is rusted out, but other than that, great metal

Bumper and valance were shot.

replacing the drivers door, some 30yr old body work was done poorly.

dash pad and all guts out.(special thanks to the member that gave me pointers on dash pad removal)

Rear bumper, valance and decklid are going.

This pile used to be attached to the car.

Will keep this thread up to date as the build continues.

That has a lot of potential. Can't go wrong with the Magnums. I hope it turns out sweet! I look forward to future pics.

When you are done, these will be the before pics and you will be very proud of the transformation.
Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Just called it a day. Tore out the radiator, pulleys, ac compressor, engine wiring harness, Crank turns great. Hoping to have the motor out tomorrow. A friend has been doing the sanding. Going slow, but lots and lots of great steel under the paint.

Didn't get a ton done today, Mostly worked on stripping it for paint. Got all the moldings, trim, side markers, tail light trim, etc. off. Also had to remove the drivers side fender to inspect for rust. Everything is looking great. Also finished tearing down the front so that I can properly clean the engine bay and front clip so that I can give it all a proper paint job.

Just one picture today.

Good luck. I've got a 70 also. Nice year. Took me 3 weeks to strip it down to shell and 3 years to put back together. Hopefully your project will move faster than mine did.
