Default 1967 289 3 speed header help!

Okay i have rebuilt a 289 and now i am stock on deciding which headers to get. I do not know much or which headers will clear steering or clutch bar. It is not power steering. I have looked at hooker and hedmans and I just want painted headers because i do not want to spend more than $180 cause im on a tight budget. any advice would be great!

OK, then get Patriot Tri-Y headers. They are a copy of the headers used on 65-66 Shelbys, and they clear.

don't forget the cost to update your exhaust once the headers are in place. You have install or modify the exhaust from the collectors back. That can be as simple as welding in your own pipe to the existing exhaust for just a few dollars, up to installing a whole new stainless system for several hundred.

I'd just use a stock H-pipe, cut it to fit the Tri-Y's. That's what they did on this real Shelby, which still has it's original Tri-Y's.
