Default Trunk Mat KIt Advice

I am fitting the trunk of a 1966 fastback with a original- style trunk mat. I see there is a "burteck (sp?) and vynal offerings. I am using the steel style rims (From Scott Drake) correct for 65-66 on the car and was thinking of buying another for the trunk...all have BF Goodrich 225's on 15 inch rims. Will the tire cover on the plaid kit fit this size tire/rim combo? I am aware the original size was 14 inch rims. Also, is I suppose the standard anchoring plate/bolt will not work with these updated tires.

Also, is there an underlayment that goes down before the mat?

Thanks!

I was able to anchor 15" rims with 205's on it without an issue. Not sure about the spare tire cover....I opted not to use one.

I have a 15 inch standard black steel wheel as a spare with a 205 60 15 in it. It fits just fine with the mount and the cover. The cover has extra room. If I ever replace it, I will go with a 215 60 15. The only thing I would be concerned about with the chrome wheel is that the plate below the wing nut will damage the finish on the chrome.

Yes there is an underlayment for under the mat. It is on top of the gas tank.
