Default The mustang lives!!!

Finally got my 66 mustang running last night. She hasn't been run in at least 30 years. After a year of set backs high money spening, tuning, and scraping off the grease and maticulously painting my neighbhor who gave me the car and I cranked her over. There are still a few wiring issues to sort out but she sounded great!!! Feels really good to just know that it runs and now its just a matter or body work. I forgot how good a small block ford sounds. Just wanted to share my good news with everyone.

Congrats! I'm about to under take a similar adventure. I just brought home a 65 convertible that has been in storage for 20 yrs. gathering info. and making a checklist of things to do. Any advice would be well received!

One way:

Remove spark plugs and squirt some light oil in every cylinder and let her soak.

Remove dist(use #1 TDC method) and use drill to turn oil pump.

Pull valve covers and verify all lifters getting oil.

If oiling checks out change oil and filter.

If oiling system has pluggage then kerosine/oil flush.
