No you still need it to tell the transmission when to kick down. It just takes away the need for setting the pressure and gives you a little more room for adjusting the cable without risk of burning up the trans.

get neither the AOD or the AODE....go for a 4r70w they are computer controlled like the AODE but they have way better gear ratios and they are stronger.... pull one out of a v6 mustang 99-04 http://www.becontrols.com/
