390 help
My brother is finishing up his 390 for his 65 Galaxie. I know its not a mustang but I was hoping someone can help. We have the 390 all together but he went and ordered a SFI Fluid Crankshaft Balancer as the org. one fell apart. The new harmonic balancer is wider then the stock one, how do I get the pulley to line up with the water pump or is it just not going to work?
thanks

+1 on the spacer..Is the pulley bolted up tight to the balancer?...What year is the new balancer intended for?...The small block units are available with different spacer widths to cover all of the changes over the years....Sorry but that chevy orange just looks way out of place to me...Too many colours going on..

390 bird

And yes it was 4 colors and I told him he may want to rethink it and he did that was a old pic no balancer ........Chevy orange he just painted it the same as it came in the 390 Thunderbird ford used paint called ford red ========we don't jinx the engines

I dont know.... I did not take the other pics with the paint. It was on mustang monthly website thats why it has there tag/credit on the pic. Its just a funny color in the sun you can kinda see the red.

The car is still at the shop getting painted thies are the pics hooked for its make over.Nice thing about it being a Cal. car is there is almost no rust and the body is straight. We got the wheels back with the chrome trim and bumpers to clean up. The bad part is from siting in a field the inside took heavy sun damage and almost everything in the car is no good

The orange Gabe wants to paint it come from our other brothers car his Cutlass Holiday Coupe. It may be hard to see but if you don't believe me the same green dodge truck towing is parked behind the cutlass.
