Wish me luck
Well, I am planning to drive my '72 to work on Friday. I say wish me luck because this will be the farthest I have driven it since I baought it, about 55 miles each way. I have not had a lot od confidence in it since it let me sit once, but I have been working up to longer distances and she has been doing well. I chose Friday because it is a week that I would normally have friday off but I need to make up about 3 hours. I normally leave for work at 5am and firing up the stang at that hour would wake half the neighborhood, so since I only need a few hours I can leave later and enjoy the drive. Plus with our work schedule there won't be as many other cars in the parking lot and the weather is supposed to be cooler.
I hope all went well for you.
As you venture further away you may want to carry a small tool kit. I keep one with me pretty much all the time.
I only have three very important tools in it.
My AAA roadside emergency card, credit card, and cell phone. Haven't had a breakdown that those three tools couldn't fix yet!

Ahhh.....she'll do just fine. I took my 65 on a 300 mile trip one-way this summer, and she purred like a kitten. Along with all the tools you mentioned.....
I also carry a tool kit with a full set of Craftsman wrenches and an extra fuel pump, water pump. alternator and belts. I figure if anything breaks, those 4 will be the ones to keep me from getting back on the road. The important thing to remember, is that you have to have faith in your old buggy. I pat mine on the dash each and every time she gets me where I want to go. So far, she hasn't let me down.

It'll make it no problem! Damn Soaring, YOU ARE PREPARED for anything. I make it a habit of carring 2 tools that will fit every bolt and nut on the car, in case 1 snaps. What kind of exhaust are you running Jes???
Well, she made it jsut fine as everyone anticipated. And I must say it was a beautiful day to cruise through southern PA farm land. Sunny with some high wispy clouds, temp was about 72-75 degrees. The ol girl just purred along like all was right in the world.
68coop: Her exhaust is a dual flow set-up. With no stereo that's all I heard for a little more than an hour.
