Default Subframe Connectors

Hey Everyone,

I'm in the market for a pair of subframe connectors. I know a lot of people swear by tin man, however cj pony parts has the bolt in/weld in ones for $96.

First question:
My current setup is a straight 6 with a t-5. I'm digging this set up for the time being, especially with gas prices above $3 here in Boston. But some day do plan dropping in a 302. So would the cj pony ones do the job for my current and future set up? Or should I drop the extra cash for the tin man?

Second question:
If I do go with the cj pony parts pair, should I bolt them in, or weld them in?

Thanks in advance.

You might be able to answer your own question. For welding in, you willing to remove the seats and carpet and clean the bottom of the car for welding? If so, go with the tinmans, you'll be glad you did.

Either will work just fine. I would weld them in tho its the best way to go. Just make sure whichever ones you get will clear the floor some older styles used to not clear the floor. I have similar ones to cj pony on a 67 i have only down side is they hang lower and are not curved to go with the contour of the floor. They work but need to be taken off for side exhaust.

If you're running side exhaust then go with the spintech connectors

Thoes are what i was looking at. I wanna run the elenor side exhaust but dont want to cut the rocker or rear toque boxes. Seen a few set ups but not any good pics of it done. Their is someone on here with a red 67-68 elenor coupe that did it without cutting i gotta find him and get some info from him.

A friend owes me a favor, so he will be installing them. If tin man are that good, I may spend the extra cash and do it the right way the first time.

Tin Man.

If you want to run side rockers with Eleanor style exhaust without cutting the torque boxes look to Mustangs To Fear. They have their own rockers that do not require cutting the torque boxes.

Ok- so I just place the order for the Tin Man Connectors. $185 shipped- not bad.

Thanks for all the input.
